You can have a continued supply of lettuce if you sow cut and come again lettuces in a pot which will last you most of the summer. These can be grown in a pot and placed on the windowsill in the kitchen. Growing your own herbs will save you money and give your food a much better taste. Again these can be grown on a windowsill in the kitchen.
Here in Oklahoma we are a target for Mother Nature. Between ice storms and tornadoes there seems to be an endless supply of blown down trees. While these are green wood and need to be dried out, free is free. Now getting this type of wood takes labor and an old pick-up truck, get the kids to help and bring home a load and stack in the backyard for later on.
