Hammer – A basic hammer is very useful. While you won’t nail many pieces together, this tool will come in handy more often than you think. Choose a 16 oz claw hammer to get started.
Cordless Drill – A cordless drill is a universally useful tool. It is used for screwing things together and for drilling holes of all sizes. You’ll find that you reach for your cordless drill over and over again during your woodworking projects. There are various sizes and strengths of cordless drill available. Look for an 18-volt drill as they have more power and the batteries typically last longer. Consider purchasing an extra battery so you can always have a spare charged and ready.
My two most used and useful power tools are my small portable power saw and my portable power drill. I use these two pieces of equipment on each and every woodworking project. They are indispensable. When buying these tools for yourself, look for good quality tools that make it easy for you to change blades or bits and that can be used for extended periods without heating the housing to the point where you can’t hold on to it any longer.
Checking your band saw before every cut is an excellent way to ensure that everything is working properly and will not malfunction when in use. Failure to check the blades could cause them to break prematurely.

If you’re looking for a fun new hobby or sitting around an empty looking house with only a bunch of Woodworking Toolsaround you, its time to be more productive and make something out of nothing. The best way to start a woodwork hobby is to make a corner bookcase.
Get creative with the mount for the square tubing. Do you have an old office chair laying around? Whatever you choose needs to have a bearing in it. You can also buy a bearing that will go on the end of the metal plumbing tubing. Perhaps this will be the most durable for you in the long run. Remember it will need to move a bit, but not turn all the way around. The wire that will be inside can not be twisted that far. The wind will want to turn your windmill to the side. Make a windmill mount that has strong stops on it to prevent this from happening.
Keep in mind that solvents are extremely flammable, and should not be stored in a place that gets above 112 degrees Fahrenheit. Also, don’t leave your cleaning rags piled in a heap, as they can combust. Be sure to wash all of your tools thoroughly after cleaning with solvents.
Safety first, remember to use these while you are working. Goggles to protect your eyes. Gloves to protect your hands from splinters, stray nails, and nicks. An apron that is intended for woodworking, to protect your clothes from getting ripped, and flying wood chips. Face mask to keep from inhaling sawdust.
